Residency Requirements

All students (returning and new) must present proof of residency. First-time enrolling students must also present proof of age, parentage, and immunization records.
 
Entrance age:
  • Kindergarten-5 years of age on or before July 31, 2023
  • First Grade-6 years of age, on or before July 31, 2023
 

 

If you own or rent/lease property within the Grandview C-4 School District attendance boundaries, the following documentation must be presented to verify residency:

  • CURRENT mortgage statement or rental/lease agreement in the resident's name with landlord information and signatures
  • Two CURRENT utility bills (gas, electric, water, trash service, home telephone, or cable) in the resident's name. Billing or statement date (not the due date) must be within the last 30 days; no final bills, disconnect, or shut-off notices will be accepted.
  •  If enrolling a student as a custodial guardian, you must provide court documentation or a letter of placement by a social services agency as proof of guardianship.
  • If the lease states the tenant is only responsible for one utility, the resident may submit an alternate article of official business mail postmarked within the last 30 days.
  • Additional documentation as deemed necessary by the Superintendent or his designee.
 

If you reside with someone who owns or rents/leases property within the Grandview C-4 School District attendance boundaries, an Affidavit of Residency will be required.  In addition to completing the affidavit forms, the following documentation will be needed from the Grandview C-4 School District resident AND the parent/legal guardian to verify residency:

 

Grandview C-4 School District RESIDENT must provide:

  • CURRENT mortgage statement or rental/lease agreement in the resident's name with landlord information and signatures.
  • Two CURRENT utility bills (gas, electric, water, trash service, home telephone, or cable) in the resident's name. Billing or statement date (not the due date) must be within the last 30 days; no final bills, disconnect, or shut-off notices will be accepted.
  • State-issued photo identification (for notary purposes).
  • Additional documentation as deemed necessary by the Superintendent or his designee.

 

Parent/Legal Guardian of the Student must provide:

  • Piece of official business mail in the parent/legal guardian's name at the address of record. Examples include paycheck stubs, bank statements, medical bills, personal property tax records, government agency letters/statements. Must be dated within the last 30 days and must show that it was mailed (not printed).
  •  State-issued photo identification (for notary purposes).
  • Additional documentation as deemed necessary by the Superintendent or his designee.
