About the BOE

The Board of Education is a seven member representative body elected by the registered voters of the Grandview C-4 School District of Jackson County. An annual school board election is held in April each year. School board members are volunteers that receive no compensation for serving on the Board.

The role of the Board of Education is to exercise general supervision over the district, and to ensure that the schools are maintained as provided by the state statutes, the rules and regulations of the Missouri State Board of Education and/or the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, and the policies, rules and regulations of the school district. The Board adopts policies for the governance of the District, with responsibility for implementing Board policy and day-to-day operations of the District delegated to the superintendent.
