Superintendent’s Bio

Dr. Stephanie Amaya became Superintendent of the Grandview C-4 School District in July 2026.

 

Dr. Stephanie L. Amaya brings more than 31 years of experience in public education and currently serves as the Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources for the Grandview C-4 School District. Throughout her career, she has led with a focus on student success, workforce excellence, and meaningful community partnership development. 

A Texas native and alumna of the University of Kansas, Dr. Amaya has built a reputation as a collaborative and forward-thinking educational leader in the Kansas City metropolitan area. Her professional journey spans roles as a social studies teacher, school counselor, school social worker, principal, district director, and assistant superintendent, each of these experiences providing her with a comprehensive PreK–12 systems perspective. 

Dr. Amaya is deeply engaged in civic and professional leadership. She serves on the Legislative Committee for the Missouri Association of School Personnel Administrators and the Board of Directors for the Cass Community Health Foundation. She has previously served on executive and advisory boards including the Kansas City Suicide Awareness and Prevention Program (KCSAPP), Northland Healthcare Access Center, Northland Career Center, Riverside Chamber of Commerce, Park Hill Community Alliance for Youth, and advisory boards for both Park University and Avila University. She has also contributed as a featured guest writer for Startland News in Kansas City. 

Her leadership has been recognized with numerous honors, including the Excellence in Education Award from the Northland Regional Chamber of Commerce, the Booster Award from the Park Hill Board of Education, the Greater Kansas City School Counselor Association Director of the Year Award, and the Missouri Director of School Counseling of the Year Award from the Missouri School Counselor Association. 

Dr. Amaya holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in social work from the University of Kansas, an Education Specialist degree in Human Services/Counseling, a master’s degree in Educational Administration (K-12) from the University of Central Missouri, and a doctorate in Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis from the University of Missouri.
