good afternoon everyone happy first day of school this is always a wonderful time certainly very different this year obviously starting without our students being in our campuses in our buildings but it's certainly still was a level of excitement that should still be we haven't been around each other for a while but certain very excited to still start the school year and still hoping that we can get our students back as quickly as possible to bump after Labor Day but very still excited to be at first day of school so welcome to the 2020 school year I know that we had several challenges this morning so just want to come and get right to it and dress a couple things we had a nationwide outage that none of us could have predicted obviously with our filtering software once this went down none of our devices were able to connect to the internet even when they were in your home so I certainly nothing that we could have prevented but I know it was frustrating for all of you for at least an hour and a half did not get resolved till about 10:20 this morning so from that point on the calls dwindled and everything but once that occurred everyone started like we told you to begin calling or numbers and that caused our phone system to start to break down a little bit we would have 12 to 15 are you in a Q and then it was telling everybody that the phone was disconnected so again I apologize for that is certainly just seem to be everything kind of hitting at once it did get better many of you were still able to get back walking around buildings and walking around some of the classroom and seeing any number of our students Elementary all the way up to high school beating online communicating with teachers so what you got frustrated just shut your device I totally understand that as well please get back on this evening make sure that you're able to get on send a ticket send an email to it make sure that we're able to get you help but please make sure you're trying again tomorrow it will get better I know some of you that maybe maybe you could not get online also got a phone call today saying that your student was absent we promised me take care of that that's not going to be an issue it's an automated system that just happen to be what occurred and I Know It kind of maybe add a little bit of an insult to injury so apologize about that as well it will get better we have normal first day kind of things that happen all the time just a different world for all of us so give us a little bit of Grace I promise we're going to continue to give grace to the students and and to all of you and we will work through this and we will get better and I promise it will improves we had food service that started today I haven't seen those numbers yet we want to make sure that we're still able to provide food and and get that out to all of you and have no pickups at our school sites as well so I will continue to improve upon that but certainly very glad that we're still able to do that and that and provide for our families the best possibly can so again hang in there Day 2 is going to be even better and I promised our teacher has been working really hard they've got great communication going on that got greats setups for their brother canvas and their classroom they just been working extremely hard it's not to be perfect but I promise you it is going to be better and it's going to keep getting better and we are going to make sure that we engage your style is your students going so keep getting more messages than that every time that we need to do you like they did so we'll see you soon thank you
