STEM Programming

The Board recognized Honeywell for funding the expansion of Project Lead the Way (PLTW) to the elementary level.  PLTW is  Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) programming that the district invested in several years ago beginning at the high school level, then adding a middle school component.

Student Assistance Program

Beginning this school year, the district will offer a Student Assistance Program through New Directions Behavioral Health which can provide free services to students and families including face-to-face short term counseling, on-site crisis management, 24-hour toll-free phone assistance and a health resource library.

LINC Programming

In May, after the Local Investment Commission (LINC) funding was reduced by state legislators, the district was informed that LINC before and after school care could only be provided four days a week instead of five.   Administration reviewed several options and recommended a plan to address the LINC funding reduction in order to continue before and after school programming five days a week.  The Board approved the one year plan that maintains LINC programming with no changes and at no cost to families for the 2017-18 school year.

Savings on Copier Lease

The Board approved entering a three year lease agreement with All Copy Products for district digital copiers.  The new lease will result in an anticipated savings of approximately $55,000.
