Lyrik
Lyriks and Dr. Amaya presented an update on the work that Lyriks and GHS was able to accomplish this past year. The Lyriks program is entering its third year of implementation and has become an integral component of the district's continuum of Multilevel Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) for its students. The year over year comparison shows strong growth in documented service interactions, increasing from 520 in year 1 to 1,106 in year 2. The program grew from responsive support into a multi-tiered intervention model. Year 1 proved the need and established the relationship. YEar 2 showed the model could produce daily engagement, structured programming, intensive case management, workforce pathways and school-wide support.
Grandview Education Foundation
Founded in 1997, the Grandview Education Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that partners with the Grandview C-4 School District and the community to enhance educational opportunities for students and staff. The Foundation represents the school district, former teachers, the business community, and other community stakeholders to develop and support opportunities that enrich learning and recognize excellence across the district. Grandview Education Foundation shared several highlights throughout the 2025-2026 school year. They have given out Teacher Grants, Student Scholarships, Building Grants, and given away A LOT of books. Last year PK-5 students all left school with 10 books in their hands. They had over 100 volunteers helping kids pick out books.
Caring for Kids
The Grandview C-4 School District has partnered with Caring for Kids KC since 2018. Their mission is to mobilize community organizations—including churches, businesses, and civic groups—to serve collaboratively around neighborhood schools, helping them achieve the goal of equipping students to reach their highest potential. Through this partnership, the district works alongside community organizations to provide resources, mentorship, volunteer support, and opportunities that enhance the academic, social, and emotional well-being of students. The Caring for Kids network consisted of 40 Grandview community partnerships, served 3,624 students, supported 55 principal projects, and invested $9,012. There were over 172 volunteers this year!
