GC-4 Welcomes New Activities Director

Mr. Brown brings a dynamic background in educational leadership, athletics, and student development, with more than 15 years of experience serving students, staff, coaches, and communities. Throughout his career, he has demonstrated a deep commitment to building strong relationships, developing positive culture, and creating opportunities for all students to succeed academically, socially, and athletically.

Mr. Brown currently serves as Principal of Central High School, an International Baccalaureate (IB) school within Springfield Public Schools, where he has led initiatives focused on instructional excellence, student achievement, school culture, and organizational leadership. Prior to his work at Central High School, Mr. Brown served as Principal and Athletic Director at Scott Charter School, where he expanded athletic programming, strengthened schoolwide systems and structures, and led professional development efforts for staff. His leadership experience also includes roles as assistant principal, dean of students, teacher, and coach at multiple educational levels.

A former professional baseball player in the Los Angeles Dodgers organization, Mr. Brown understands firsthand the impact athletics can have on discipline, teamwork, leadership, and lifelong success. His experiences as both an educator and athlete have shaped his leadership philosophy centered around Passion, Respect, Integrity, Discipline, and Excellence (P.R.I.D.E.).

Mr. Brown earned his Bachelor of Science in Education from the University of Missouri–St. Louis holds a Master of Science in Education and a Specialist Degree in Superintendency from Arkansas State University. He is currently pursuing a Doctorate in School Leadership.
