Board Brief – May 21, 2026

Program Evaluations

District programs are evaluated annually or biennially per Policy IM. These evaluations assess progress toward meeting established goals and provide recommendations for improvement. The evaluation process ensures that programs remain effective, aligned with district goals, and responsive to the needs of students and the community. Program evaluations are summarized and formalized for the Board of Education to maintain transparency and accountability. These updates provide the Board with a clear understanding of program progress and areas for improvement, and facilitate informed decision-making.  This month, the Special Education and the School Counseling programs were evaluated

Curriculum and Instruction

Assistant Superintendent  Dr. Prissy  LeMay shared news about our Bulldog Summer Academy.  This year, summer school will be held at Grandview Middle School,  Belvidere, and Conn West elementaries.  Spots are filling up fast!  The first day of Bulldog Summer Academy will be June 1 and will run through June 30.    There will also be an opportunity for our high school students to complete credit recovery virtually in July.

Tuition Rate

Although the Grandview C-4 school district does not enroll students who live outside the district boundaries, the Board of Education is required to post a tuition rate in instances when accepting tuition students is mandated by law.  Based upon the current expenditures for Average Daily Attendance as submitted to DESE, the tuition rate for 2026-27 was set at $17,604.

Bond Update

This summer will be very busy regarding construction projects.  We have work being completed all over the district.  Several of our elementary schools will be getting kitchen remodels.  The high school will have work done in the gym and hallways.  All of our bond projects are running on time and on budget.
