Partnership with KCNSC
Kansas City National Security Campus (KCNSC - which is managed by Honeywell) and Grandview C-4 have a long history of collaboration on STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) initiatives such as teacher internships, real-world STEM integration into curriculum, and mentorships to support students in advanced manufacturing and robotics. During the 2024-25 school year, KCNSC provided 165 volunteers, impacting 742 students.
School Improvement Plans
Principals from Grandview Middle School, Martin City K-8, and the Center for Alternative Instructional Resources (CAIR) presented their School Improvement Plans (SIPs) that were developed by their building Leadership Teams (BLTs). Goals geared toward increasing student achievement in literacy and math, and increasing a sense of belonging and ownership in the school community, were developed using root cause analysis and 30, 60, and 90-day plans to evaluate the effectiveness and adjust the plans as warranted in order to accomplish established goals.
Annual Audit Report
A representative from the auditing firm DSWA presented the audit report for the 2024-25 fiscal year, showing a clean opinion with no material weaknesses or significant findings. DSWA determined that the District complied in all material respects with the types of compliance requirements that could have a direct and material effect on each of its major federal programs.
2026-27 Calendar
The Board approved the calendar for the 2026-27 school year. The calendar is substantially similar to the current year calendar with a few notable changes. Since State law requires that the first day of school can be no sooner than 14 days prior to Labor Day, school will start on Tuesday, August 25th (preceded by Transition Day on Monday, August 24th), causing the first semester to end after the Winter Break in January.
