Preliminary Budget
The Board adopted a preliminary budget for 2025-26 and reviewed projections for the next three fiscal years. Ending balances are projected to decrease over the next three years, but remain above the Board’s targeted goal.
District Wellness Community Meeting
As part of the District’s Strategic Plan a Districtwide Wellness Committee meeting is held once per year. These meetings include representatives from the district, community agencies, parents and students. The purpose is to share ongoing activities related to health and wellness occurring in the district, as well as to gather input from participants regarding policies, processes and strengths or improvement needs of the district program. The spring meeting was held on May 20, 2025.
Facilities Improvement
Elementary school classroom renovations were identified as a priority and approved by voters in the April 2024 Bond election for facilities improvements. The first elementary school project includes upgrades to all Conn West (CW) and Belvidere (BV) Elementary Schools classrooms. Both CW and BV require flooring abatement to remove old tiles and glue. The Board approved a contract with New Horizons LLC to perform this work. Additionally, a contract with McConnel & Associates was approved for playground site work at the Highgrove Early Childhood Center.
Purchase of Buses
In alignment with the 5-year bus replacement plan approved in 2021, two new buses were purchased to replace older 20 passenger buses. As the five year plan is implemented, the average age of the District’s fleet of buses has been reduced to seven years.
