Preparations for the Start of School
Dr. Rodrequez updated the Board on preparations for the August 21st start of school including New Staff Academy, Convocation, Transitions Day (for 6th & 9th grade students) and professional development activities.
Dual Credit Agreements
The Board approved agreements with UMKC and Missouri State University to provide Grandview High School students with opportunities to earn college credits while in high school.
Kelly Education Services
Administration gathers data annually and other feedback to evaluate the effectiveness of Kelly Services contract agreement which provides substitutes for the district. Kelly Services submits an end-of-year report and meets with the assistant superintendent of human resources and the superintendent to review the annual outcomes of this partnership.
Budget Document for 2023-24
A comprehensive budget document is produced and publicized annually to provide a projected financial status of the district. The Budget Document outlines the budget message, fund balances, anticipated revenues and expenses including detailed reports, debt service, and capital projects which is reflected in the preliminary budget adopted by the Board of Education at the June 22, 2023 meeting. The document will be posted on the district website under the Finance Department.
New Student Information System
The Board approved the purchase of a new student information system to replace the current provider which will discontinue service in 2025. The system utilized by the district is crucial to effectively managing student-related information as it serves as a repository for a diverse range of data; including enrollment and registration details, academic information, Special Education and Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), health and medical records, emergency contacts, graduation and transcripts, and other essential components.
