Additionally, the Board elected Monica Terry as President, Dawn Foy as Vice President and Damon Greene as Treasurer to serve until April 2022.

Curriculum & Instruction Update

The C&I department made numerous classroom size and assignment changes to bring back 3rd – 5th grade students to four days a week and will make similar accommodations for the return of 6th -12th grade students later this month.  The State’s standard tests - Missouri Assessment Program (MAP) and End of Course (EOC) assessments will be administered this spring to all MO public school students beginning in May.  These tests were not assessed last year due to the pandemic.

Salary Schedule Recommendations

The Board approved the recommendations from Grandview 8 and Grandview 10 for the 2021-22 school year.  The recommendations included vertical and horizontal movement on the certificated salary schedule as well as an $800 increase to the base; and vertical movement plus a 2.61% increase to each cell on the classified salary schedule. Teams of representatives from the administration, the Board of Education, support staff (Grandview 8) and teachers (Grandview 10) meet several times throughout the year to develop recommendations related to salaries, benefits and quality of work-life issues.  This collaborative process, which has been in existence in Grandview C4 for decades, ensures representation by employees in problem solving and reaching consensus agreements.

Employee Insurance

The Board approved continuing medical, dental, life and long term disability insurance with current providers with no rate changes from last year.

Teledentistry Partnership

In June 2020, the Board approved an agreement to partner the Cass County Dental Clinic to provide on-site access to preventative oral health services and referrals to the dental clinic or specialists as needed for Grandview C4 students.  An update from the Cass Community Health Foundation demonstrated the needs and benefits this partnership has had for Grandview C4 families over the past year.
