2024 Welcome Letter

Dear Grandview Families:

 

We are excited to announce the 2024 Grandview C-4 IGNITE Summer School Program, which will be held June 10-July 3, 2024. This includes the observance of Juneteenth on Wednesday, June 19th, 2024. Additionally, LAUNCH virtual learning option is available for high school students from June 3rd- June 28th. 

IGNITE Summer School provides our students with additional learning opportunities to further their educational journey and prepare them for the upcoming school year.  This year, the IGNITE Summer School programs will be at  Belvidere Elementary, Martin City K-8, High Grove Early Childhood Center, and Grandview High School. For summer 2024, all Meadowmere or Belvidere students will attend summer school at Belvidere Elementary.  All students who attend Butcher Greene, Conn West, and Martin City K-8 will attend Martin City K-8.  For middle school, all Grandview Middle School and Martin City K-8 students will attend Martin City K-8, and all high school students will attend Grandview Senior High School.  Extended School Year (ESY) for Early Childhood Special Education students will continue to be located at High Grove Early Childhood Center.

 All students participating this summer will enroll in their upcoming grades for the 24-25 school year. Our Future Ready approach is designed to set our students up for optimal success during the school year.  All incoming kindergarten, sixth graders, and freshmen are particularly encouraged to enroll in summer school. Students will be provided additional support during this transitional summer as they enter their new school building.  Students will learn to navigate the school, meet teachers, and build friendships. 

To reward our students’ continued commitment to learning, we once again provide our summer enrichment opportunity in July. This opportunity will be available for students who achieve a 90% or higher attendance percentage during June.  This opportunity applies to all students in K-8th grade.

  

IGNITE Summer School enrollment is now open. In-person registration will occur on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, from 3:30-6:30 p.m. in the front lobby of Grandview High School for all families who prefer this option or require additional support, such as translation services or internet access. Students in high school will begin course enrollment in May, and courses will be tentative based on the completion of a student’s final assessments (completed through the GHS Counseling Center). In-person enrollment will also be available on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, from 4:00-7:00 pm at 13015 10th Street, Grandview, MO 64030 in The Learning Center (TLC).  

LINC will provide before and aftercare for elementary students. Breakfast and lunch will be provided daily at all sites, free of charge. 

Additional information regarding online registration will be emailed to elementary and middle school families. All registration information will be posted on the district website.
