Program Evaluations

Program Evaluations for Title I Early Childhood (EC), Parents As Teachers (PAT), and Community Education were presented to the Board.  The purpose of Title I EC programming is to increase kindergarten readiness.  Last year the program served 59 students, an increase from the previous year.  PAT promotes optimal early development, learning and health of children by supporting their parents and caregivers.  Last year PAT provided 995 visits to 239 families. The district’s Community Academy provides adult learning programs such as financial planning, strategies to assist with student social/emotional wellbeing, literacy, and English as a second language.  Learn more about the district's community education program at:  Community Academy.

School Improvement Plan Updates

During the fall semester, principals presented their School Improvement Plans (SIPs) to the Board of Education.  This year the plan format was extensively revised to include root cause analysis as well as critical evaluation every 30, 60 and 90 days.  An update was provided regarding the use of a detailed logic model that principals used to evaluate and adjust their improvement plans.  The logic model links short and long terms outcomes with program processes and the assumptions/principles of the program.  This process uses improvement science, and operates from an understanding that “Nothing changes without disturbance.  Since it is people who change things, that means change can’t happen until people are disturbed… It is in this place of discomfort where we expand our beliefs and innovations are born….”

Estimated Tax Levy

Districts are required to annually project estimated, non-binding tax levy rates to be submitted to the County Clerk in April.  The Board approved an estimated tax levy rate of $4.0450 per $100 Assessed Valuation for General and Teacher (Combined) Operating funds, and $1.05 for the Debit Service fund, for a total estimated levy rate of $5.095 for 2021.  Official tax levy rates are typically set in the fall each year.
