Grandview High School, enter at the front door and follow the procedures given by the Health Services staff when setting the appointment.
Since only medical professionals can administer the tests, our registered nurses will provide this service.
Staff members who have symptoms will need to notify their supervisor as usual and arrange an appointment to get tested. When the employee’s supervisors are notified they will contact the Human Resources department and the Coordinator of Health Services with the employee’s contact information. A Health Services representative will contact the employee to set an appointment to be tested. Please remember to stay home if you are experiencing symptoms or are ill.
The nurses providing the tests will wear full, medical personal protective equipment (PPE). Each staff member getting a test must wear a mask while in the testing space. We will clean and disinfect the space, following health department guidelines.
The Abbott BinaxNOW antigen test is a minimally invasive anterior nasal swab that detects protein antigens from SARS CoV-2 in individuals suspected of COVID-19 within the first seven days of symptom onset. The results are available in about 15 minutes. Negative results on this test do not rule out COVID-19, so we will encourage staff members to follow up with their health care providers.
We will share our test results with the state and local health departments, as well as with our Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources and the employee’s supervisor.
