Board of Education

The Board of Education is a seven-member representative body elected by the registered voters of the Grandview C-4 School District of Jackson County. An annual school board election is held in April each year. School board members are volunteers that receive no compensation for serving on the Board.

The role of the Board of Education is to exercise general supervision over the district and to ensure that the schools are maintained as provided by the state statutes, the rules and regulations of the Missouri State Board of Education, and/or the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, and the policies, rules and regulations of the school district. The Board adopts policies for the governance of the District, with responsibility for implementing Board policy and day-to-day operations of the District delegated to the superintendent.

The Board has authority to take official action only when a minimum of four members are present.
 
Governance Team Unity of Purpose

The Grandview C-4 Board of Education and Superintendent as a governance team are united through the following shared moral imperative which will be accomplished through effective policy and decision-making utilizing the fundamentals of continuous improvement. 

The Governance Team will provide a structure that gives all students the opportunity to gain skills necessary to achieve their highest potential and prepare them to be future ready.  The Board of Education will empower and support administration, staff, and students with tools, resources, and training to facilitate a highly engaging learning experience focused on academic growth in a safe and healthy environment.
